It was their first year in law school at the University of Notre Dame and they had every class together, but it wasn’t until their 2nd semester Torts class that Brett sat next to Meghan. Since he and his friends were living in a beautiful professor’s house in South Bend while the professor was on sabbatical, Meghan asked to throw a Christmas party there for their second year fellow law students. That sealed their friendship and they spent a lot of time together during their second and third year as friends. It wasn’t until after they graduated and Meghan moved to New Mexico for a year while Brett was in Chicago that they began a cross-country relationship.
Flash forward a few years and Brett had the perfect proposal for Meghan in Chicago. It was her parent’s wedding anniversary and as they were driving into Chicago to visit that day, Brett decided that during lunch in Millennium Park would be the perfect time. As they walked to the Chicago Bean, Brett told her they were going to “meet his sister” when he got down on one knee and asked to be “…the future Mrs…(pointed to the Bean-that’s his last name, btw)”.
Their wedding was just as perfect. It glistened with elegance and tradition. Between the gold, lace and navy, it was the perfect Notre Dame wedding. Having their reception at the South Dining Hall was the perfect decision because of the dark wood walls, elegant fabric treatment and intimate table settings. It really embodied Meghan & Brett and their love.
